| J1 / Tananarive - Antsirabe (170
kms, 3h30 ). Your first malagasy sceneries. Rice fields and small villages
on the hillsides, typical of Imerina and Highlands countryside. The
afternoon, visit of lake Tritriva and Andraikiba. Night in hotel. J2 / Antsirabe - Ambositra -Ranomafana (280 kms, 5-6 h ). We keep aiming South to cross those high plateaux and from Ambositra it really look like some alpine country, till we turn east towards Ranomafana National park. in Ambositra we will visit local craftsmen workshops to see their great wood sculptures. Night in a forest lodge and nocturnal visit for the braves.
More cliffs near Ihosy. J3 / Ranomafana - Ambalavao (130 kms, 3h-3h30). long or short visit of the park to check out the local lemurs. After the hike, we'll end up in the thermal pool of Ranomafana. Road to Fianarantsoa in the afternoon and night in a delicious hotel. J4 / Ambalavao - Camp Catta (86 kms on tar, 22 kms on dirt tracks, 2h-2h30). the scenery has changed, the vegetation and climate have a good smell of the South. Hot and dry. We end up in Camp Catta a small lodge nested on foot of impressive rock cliffs and world famous climbing spot. Night in bungalows. J5 / Camp Catta. 3 Hour hike to Lagera a grest and central summit to enjoy a large panorama of this exceptionnal valley. J6 / Camp Catta - Ranohira (62 kms of tracks, 160 kms of paved road, 5-6h). A roady day spent on a basically good road between great landscapes and a sunset at the famous Isalo window, a natural rock wonder. night in bungalows. J7 / Ranohira - Parc de l'Isalo. Hike through the canyons of the National park and an occasion to see a new kind of lemurs. W ealso go to the Piscine Naturelle for a superb dive in those fresh and pure waters.
A dream beach, somewhere South J8 / Ranohira - Tuléar (220 kms , 4-5h). Your first baobabs and characteristic tombs of the South. Also the first gust of heat from the coast. A short tour of the city and we let you relax in your hotel. J9 / Tuléar - Anakao. Transfer with speed boat (1h30-2h). a little excitement to cross the reef and a landing in a small isolated fishermen village. barely any vehicle drive out here. Bungalows on the beach. J10 / Anakao. Excursion to Nosy Ve, a small islet packed with hundreds of big ground nesting birds. greta spot for skin diving. J11 / Anakao - Tuléar - Tananarive. early morning return to Tulear, the airport and ultimately your flight back somewhere else, the end of a beautiful road. Fin d'un beau voyage. |
