The South : It does rain very little and the 2 weeks of yearly
rains are much concentrated over the months of Jan and Feb.
Most tours can, however, be organized and specially boats
and dug out expeditions as roads are sometimes flooded for
good.
The West : It does rain quite a bit and roads are closed
for months in the most remote parts of this region. Let's
ban anything really serious from Nov through march or april.
Boat cruises are possible even during the cyclonic season.
The North West : Same type of weather as on the west but
somehow better roads facilitate excursions, even during
the rain season. The Ankarana tsingy is not a viable option
during the rains as it can get extremely muddy around there,
...
The East and North East : That's getting serious there.
It rains all year long and the driest months are Sept-Oct-Nov.
It rains mostly at night and if you're staying in hotels
it's standable!
The High Lands : It does rain quite a bit from Nov to
march but usually in the aftyernoons and it is oerfect
weather for whitewater .
Temperatures : The coast is a bit hot for serious walking
and so are some areas like Isalo, Makay, Bemaraha can get
TOO hot for any serious physical activities during the
rain season.
On the High Lands, temps are reasonnable all year through
but get real chilly in winter (june-Sept). Even on the
coasts you'll need sweaters and jackets for the coldest
days or nights.
