NOSY HARA
Climbing and Adventures in Northern Madagascar

Nathalia on Nosy Andantsara |
Nosy Hara is a gift from the Ancestors. A blessed land
for climbers and lovers of
exotism, wilderness, nature, ...
Holy ground for the Antekarana (the local tribe), our
comprehension and behavior gained us
strong support from the villagers and royal authorities.
We decided to settle down on the smallest one of the
islands, a bit less than 300 m long
for a maximum width of 100m. |
Half of the island is a deep tsingy, while the other side is
covered by a small forest and offers a great viewpoint on the
archepelago
In between white sand beaches on both sides, allowing some latitude
in function of tides, sun and wind.
Baudouin with the day catch, to be eaten fresh,
....
We tried hard to hide the tents in or under the tsingy, hidden
by trees and rocks, part of the island.
No cement on the island, only rocks, wood, straw and leaves
We do our best to procure you a maximum of comfort with as little
disturbance on the environment as possible but this remain for
nature lover only.

You'll
live mostly barefoot, ...
The strong winds blowing in the area maintain a very
pleasant temperature for most of the season (April-November) and
a relative dryness.
Cliff orientation allow to stay in the shade all day long
if you fear the sun too much.
Cave-kitchen for fresh products!
The main drawback is water restrictions. Everything
has to be hauled in either from the Nosy Hara spring or from Diego.

The traditionnal welcome service, ....
As we don't want to abuse the Nosy Hara reserves,
we do limit quite strictly fresh water use to one shower per day.
 Leaving
the camp behind.
Days will be salty and nights spicy, ...
 Great
climbs over both beaches of Andantsara, always one side shaded
Despite this limitation, life is incredibly serene and pleasant
on these islets. The sea is very generous, feeding us fresh fish
and offering extraordinary reef life watching. The beer is usually
fresh, once in a while we roast a goat and the rocks remain what
they are splendors.
You want an other good one : NO MOSQUITOES!!!

A magic line on Anjombavola.
